About the game

Tank Warfare: Operation Pugilist plunges players into one of the most intricate operations in question of displacement and tactics. Long live the story!

The spring offensive of British forces in eastern Tunisia began with an attempt at a frontal advance of Mareth's defensive line. After a massive bombing and an incendiary attack, the British forces that comprised the 50th Infantry Division of Northumberland and the 50th Royal Regiment of Tanks launched an attack on the coastal part of the fortifications of the Mareth line.

Infantry of the 8th Battalion Durham Light Infantry crossed Wadi Zigzaou and captured two small bridgeheads on the left bank: Ouerzi and Ksiba Ouest. The main obstacle to continuing the offensive is the river in full after the rains. The passages of the heavy vehicles are collapsing quickly by the flow of water, which made difficult the crossing of the tanks and artillery.

  • Two operations of 12 turns for each of the parties (Mareth Line, March 22-24, 1943).
  • Precisely recreated area of over 100 sq. km: seashore, strong points and oases, a desert with harsh terrain and extensive gullies.
  • Historical organizational structure of units at the time of the offensive.
