Nested Lands is a multiplayer settlement-building RPG set in a dark, plague-ravaged world where twisted madmen and bandits roam the land. Your life will depend on how well you manage and grow your settlement. Fortunately, you're not alone in this dark world — your peasants will help you gather resources, craft items, and build defenses as you lead them through danger and privation. But remember, every choice you make has consequences and can lead your village to prosperity or a senseless death from the plague. 

Highlights

You will have to start from scratch and develop an entirely new civilization. You can assign each peasant a specific role, instructing them to build, craft, or gather the necessary resources to survive the challenges you will face. With an endless array of buildings to improve and hundreds of items to construct and customize, like farms and animals, you can shape the settlement as you wish. But don't let the expansion of your dynasty blind you: hostile forces lurk nearby with a thirst for blood.

The only way to stay alive in the endless darkness of the Nested Lands is by gathering the few survivors, like you, who live on the edge and have not lost hope. Save and recruit villagers throughout your journey across the world. But remember, they will need your protection.

Start with the bare minimum. Climb out of the deepest pit, overcome impossible challenges, and ensure that everyone in the Nested Lands knows your name. Keep in mind they will consider and evaluate every decision you make. Do you prefer your name to be a cause of praise or to instill fear among the common folk inhabiting this vast open world? Why Early Access?

“Nested Lands has been undergoing development since mid-2023, and our primary goal is to ensure that we enter Early Access with fully established core mechanics. By releasing the game in early access, we aim to gather valuable feedback from players, allowing us to create a well-rounded experience that incorporates both our vision and the suggestions of the players. Moreover, this early access period will enable us to access players' journeys and improve the game experience by crafting the ultimate version of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Providing an exact timeframe is challenging, but tentatively, we anticipate a release within 6 months EA launch. However, we must prioritize the development of a compelling narrative and ensure the game is in excellent condition before concluding the "Early Access" phase. Therefore, the timeline may extend beyond our initial estimate. Moreover, this time is needed to stabilize the cross-platform online COOP (between the PC and Consoles) and pass all the certifications on the console side.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During the early access period, we plan to regularly update the content following the update plan we release before the launch, including significant story additions that should introduce new elements and expand the game's narrative. While the playable portion of the story may be limited during this phase, the final version of the game is planned to seamlessly integrate the complete storyline and full gameplay mechanics that we have planned so far. The story updates we plan should also introduce fresh biomes, creatures, resources, and other exciting features to enrich the game's overall experience. Moreover, the game plans to get 1 additional island and plans to uncover the story around this island that is needed to complete the overall story. Several new Major NPC characters are also a part of the Early Access stage plans.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All the core mechanics have been successfully implemented. However, there is still further refinement needed to enhance the overall content and gameplay experience before the early access launch. We aim to evoke a sense of an abandoned place where peace is a part of suffering, and you are the only hope for the NPCs and the surroundings.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features, and we will keep things clear and transparent before and after the release. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We rely on our Discord server as the main channel for communication with our community. We invite you to join our Discord server and share your suggestions with us.

Your life will depend on how well you manage and grow your settlement. Fortunately, you're not alone in this dark world — your peasants will help you gather resources, craft items, and build defenses as you lead them through danger and privation. Start from a clean slate and build a brand-new civilization. Assign each peasant a specific role and order them to build, craft, or gather the resources you need to survive the hardships you will face. With dozens of upgradable buildings and hundreds of items to craft and customize, including farms and animals, you're free to shape your settlement as you see fit. But don't let your growing dynasty blind you — hostile forces lurk nearby, ready to spill your blood.

 

The only way to break through the endless darkness of Nested Lands is to gather the other survivors who share your plight, but have yet to fully give up hope. Save and recruit peasants during your journey across the world. But keep in mind that they will need your protection.
Harsh weather and the coming winter are also your sworn enemies, and the highly detailed world full of random events won’t grant you a single moment’s rest.

 

Start from nothing. Rise from the bottom, overcome monumental challenges, and make your fame echo across the Nested Lands. But be careful - all your decisions will be carefully watched and evaluated. Will your name be praised by all, or will its very sound instill fear into the common folk who dwell in this open world? The choice is yours.

 

Due to the distorted nature of the world, surviving is even tougher. Before facing other threats, you must take care of the basics: a lack of medicine can decimate your village faster than any sword. Craft, improve your skills, and face the harsh reality of the Nested Lands. The brutal climate and the arrival of winter can be your greatest enemies, but random encounters will not let you rest either.
