The king of Baron has dispatched his elite air force, the Red Wings, to attack neighboring kingdoms. FFIV is the first in the series to introduce the dynamic Active Time Battle system, in which time doesn't stop even during combat, giving players a thrilling sense of urgency. Due to the game's great success, this revolutionary system was implemented in various subsequent titles of the series.
