And yet, we moved into action, flanked their Pak 40 positions with our Shermans, secured the eastern bank with a barrage from 75 mm M1 howitzers, and pushed forward before they could react.

Everything had been set to blow up — but we moved too fast. They had no time. It was not about firepower, but about precision at exactly the right moment. Planning. Discipline. Every move counted, and we made it to the other side! This may very well be the beginning of the end of this terrible war.
