Following the tradition of other 2D shooting games that started with the classic Space Invaders, Zeit² puts the player inside a fragile and fast ship, protected by a very efficient force shield. However, as energy is not inexhaustible, each shot taken consumes a little of the field's protection capacity, reducing its size.

Colliding with enemies or failing to destroy them in time also consumes the energy of the shield, bringing the destruction of the player's ship closer whenever an opponent escapes the shots. Hitting them, however, releases energy that is absorbed by the ship, restoring some of its integrity.

In addition to the constant and drastic fluctuation of the player's energy, which can lose strength from one hour to another if you don't control the use of weapons well, a second factor makes Zeit² one of the most creative and innovative games of its kind: time travel.

Zeit² has eight different game modes, of which 3 were already obtainable in the demo (Tutorial, Arcade, Wave). The tutorial teaches the basic commands and how game mechanics work, such as ship energy fluctuation and time travel.

Arcade mode, on the other hand, is the classic style of play, with several stages that are won after destroying a boss, while the “Wave” mode (wave) is a test of resistance, agility and skill that puts infinite sequences of enemies to see how far they can go. the player manages to stay alive.
