Manor Lords is a strategy game that will allow you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Make your small village grow by turning a lively city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.

Inspired by French art and architecture at the end of the 14th century, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy whenever possible, using it to guide both gameplay mechanics and graphics. We avoid the usual medieval clichés in favor of historical accuracy so that the world seems more authentic, colorful and truthful.

ORGANIC CITY BUILDING - Manor Lords offers a grid-free city building experience, so you have complete freedom to position and rotate your buildings. The construction mechanics are inspired by the true forms of growth of medieval cities and towns: the formation and development of settlements were influenced by the great trade routes and the characteristics of the terrain.

• From a central market, expand your residential, commercial and industrial districts following the natural layout of the land. Create farms based on soil fertility, position hunting grounds according to animal populations, and ensure proper access to resource deposits and forests to get the raw materials needed to keep growing.
• Determine what the residential areas will be and watch your residents build their homes according to the historic land distribution system. Each region will be subdivided based on its roads and the division of spaces, so the residences will grow accordingly.
• Build extensions behind larger homes to generate income and resources otherwise unavailable. Landlords do more than pay taxes: they grow vegetables, raise chickens and goats, and provide the basic supplies they and other villagers need beyond what the farms, pastures, and industries you manage can provide.
• Manage your settlements through the unique requirements and opportunities of each season. Enjoy the gifts brought by the spring rains and prepare for the relentless winter snows.

RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - From boots to barley, from furs to honey, Manor Lords features a wide range of seasonally appropriate products. Materials need to be transported and processed to become ready-to-eat products through production chains. You will have to balance your people's basic needs with the desire to produce luxury items to ensure everyone's happiness, as well as manufacturing products for export or forging weapons and armor that will help you in your conquests.

• Resources are spread across the map so you're encouraged to expand your cities and establish multiple specialized settlements. Extract valuable ores from your mining colonies while your villages devoted to agriculture, livestock or hunting provide the grains and meats needed to feed your emerging population.
• Thoughtless expansions will directly affect the environment. Herds of deer will migrate away from civilizations that get too close, failing to rotate crops on plantations will worsen soil fertility, and cutting down too many trees will lead to deforestation.
• Sell leftover goods to traveling merchants or establish trade routes on your own. Producing and exporting quality products will bring you riches to develop your city, pay taxes to your lord, hire mercenaries and unlock technologies to make new industries, products and tools.

MEDIEVAL BATTLES - Your land is just a small strip of land in a vast territory, and the diverging ambitions between you and neighboring lords will eventually cause conflict. Lead your people into battle, not as expendable units that can be easily replaced, but as your beloved and loyal subjects. Each death is a cost that must be considered.

• Train a retinue of talented warriors to fight alongside the waves you summon from the city's militia. Sometimes you'll need to use these soldiers to put down rebellions or quell criminals, other times you'll lead your men into battle to conquer or defend territory. If needed, mercenaries are a costly option to bolster your ranks.
• A robust diplomacy system will allow you to communicate with other lords, and also use your influence or threats to interfere with their actions. These rival lords have their own goals and they will come looking for you too. Your responses to their offers and insults can be the difference between war and peace.
• Command tactical battles in real time, while taking into account elements such as fatigue, weather conditions and equipment. Position your troops wisely: a smaller force can defeat a larger enemy if it is well commanded.
• Feel the costs of battle, even in victory, as each fallen soldier represents a lost person from your city. A Pyrrhic victory can be synonymous with your economic doom or a winter based on food and firewood rationing.
